The First Part of Henry VI

This web-site is an online dramaturgy packet for the American Shakespeare Center’s Actor’s Renaissance Season production of Shakespeare’s The First Part of Henry VI. The Site is intended to present the dramaturgical information in an easily accessible format allowing the actors to easily navigate and find the information they want from this packet.

To the left is a menu that navigates to different areas of research. Characters lists each character in the play and provides both information on the character in the play, and information on the historical individual. The History section contains a brief history of England and France, as well as the line of Monarchs and a royal family tree for both countries. The Play contains some information about the text of 1 Henry VI as well as links to a summary, the prompt book, and a facsimile of the First Folio. There are also links to the three main sources Shakespeare used. The Bibliography links to a list of sources I used in preparing this document. I can obtain most of them again if you want to look over them, just let me know.

If you find a dead link please let me know. I will get it up and running ASAP.
